Short biography​

Victoria Daaor holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and serves as the Chief Executive
of Elohim Development Foundation, a faith-based Non-Governmental Organization headquartered in
Makurdi. With a background as a Management Consultant, Gender specialist, and GBV consultant, she
also holds certification as a trainer in Nonviolence/Peace building. With over two decades of experience,
Victoria has been actively involved in HIV/AIDS research, program planning, and Human Resource
Management. Her expertise extends to Trauma Healing, Facilitation, Strategic Planning, and Mentorship.
Victoria Daaor contributes significantly to various professional arenas. She holds memberships in key
capacities such as the State Technical Team on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, the Technical
Working Group on Reproductive Health, and has chaired the Peacebuilding and Education Thematic
group. Her leadership also extends to her role as the former interim secretary of the Benue State
Network of NGOs (BENGONET) and as a member of the network of African Women Nonviolent Initiative
for Change (AWANICH) based in Accra, Ghana.
In addition to her organizational engagements, Victoria played a pivotal role in co-founding the Civil
Society Organizations CSO-B network, an umbrella body encompassing humanitarian response groups
in the state. Currently, she holds the position of Capacity Building and Mentorship Lead within this
network. Victoria's influence reaches into peacebuilding efforts within various communities. She has acted as a mediator on a conflict resolution committee established to mediate between herdsmen and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue State. Moreover, she contributes to humanitarian initiatives
by offering counsel and rehabilitation support for women and girls in IDP camps.

Achievement​

  • Successfully organized and facilitated the inaugural North Central Human Capital Development
    Regional Conference, attended by 4 deputy Governors and 1 Governor. This groundbreaking event
    resulted in the elevation of the Nasarawa HCD office to an Agency and the Focal Person to a Director General.
    • Collaborating with Farm Radio International to empower female farmers through training on their rights and access to agricultural support.
    • Played a key role in establishing a Sexual Assault Referral Center in Benue State in April 2023.
    • Conducted more than 13 training sessions on Psychological First Aid for GBV practitioners, community members, trauma victims, healthcare workers, and CSOs across the country.
    • Provided trauma healing assistance to over 47 victims from various violent conflicts in Benue State.
    • Contributed to the adaptation and review of Benue State's Standard Operating Procedures for Gender-Based Violence in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, supported by UNFPA.
